Valerie Johnson, a special education teacher from Las Vegas, Nevada vacations in Holyhead, Wales instantly falling in love with the seaside location. Two days into her adventure however, she finds herself in need of a tour guide. Suggested by an employee at the Inn where she is staying, Valerie meets a local named Matthew Davies. A retired architect and widower with a history of setbacks, Matthew is kind, knowledgeable, and quick witted. Their business relationship evolves over time as Valerie gets to know the residents, historical locations, and untapped potential of her tour guide. Things get complicated and personalities clash as Matthew juggles his difficult relationships with his two adult children while Valerie's busy trying to avoid the local rumor mill. How will the differences within their own experiences lead them to understand the love they may have found?
