F***ed Fairy Tales: Volume 1 by Ginger Gonzaga

A dark, witty, edgy short story series, that takes a magnifying glass and some sunlight to the popular fairy tales we all know and-but perhaps shouldn't-love. In each story, actor/writer/director/comedian Ginger Gonzaga, creatively comments on the harsh truths of modern society, while simultaneously exposing the often twisted fairytale messaging that may have contributed to them. F***ed Fairy Tales gives fairytales the "Black Mirror" treatment they deserve while forcing you to both think and hopefully, laugh. Volume 1 of F***ed Fairy Tales includes "3 Days in Court after 100 Years of Sleep," based on "Sleeping Beauty," which follows the surreal court case where jurors from the year 1930 have to determine the outcome of a sexual assault case in the year 2030. The second story, "Blondie," is based on "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," and is a hilarious tale about a drunk festival goer, Blondie, after she breaks into the home of three burly gay black men, affectionately known as "bears." Finally, in "Mermaid," Ginger eviscerates the narrative of "The Little Mermaid," with the story of a young female musician who gives her voice in exchange for extreme plastic surgery and a chance to appear on the future's version of "The Bachelor," called "The Prince." Each story is thought- provoking, wild, and silly. The stakes are high with real-world consequences and chaos.
