He has a long teaching experience of more than ten years at the university level teaching in Science areas of Immunology, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology. Dr. Nyakundi has a particular research interest on the molecular basis of infectious diseases of the tropics where he has published a number of papers. He is currently serving as a lecturer and the Dean, Faculty of Science in Mwenge Catholic University (MWECAU)-Moshi, Kilimanjaro- Tanzania. Dr. Mariam M. Mirambo holds a Masters Degree from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and a Doctorate Degree from Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS)-Mwanza, Tanzania in collaboration with the Institute of Medical Microbiology, Göttingen, Germany. She is currently serving as an associate Professor in infectious diseases and Immunology. She is the co-pioneer and the head of the department of Microbiology and Immunology of CUHAS. Throughout her academic/research carrier, she has authored and co-authored more than 80 scientific articles in the field of infectious diseases in peer reviewed scientific journals and supervised a number of postgraduate students.
