Solo Practice Guidebook by The American Association of Nurse Attorneys
The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, through the Solo Practice Section, has created Solo Practice Guidebook, an informative handbook to assist attorneys who wish to explore solo practice. Whether an attorney’s background is in larger firm practice or as an organizational employee, the move to solo practice can be daunting. Many of the authors made this transition without the benefit of mentoring and resources. This guidebook helps fill that gap. The authors are all practicing attorneys with decades of experience in solo practice. Although the book is written for the benefit of nurse attorneys, its content is generalizable to any attorney in solo practice. Common issues and specific tips that support developing a solid foundation in solo law practice are discussed. Specific help is offered at all stages of this endeavor: when considering solo practice, setting up a solo practice, and sustaining a successful solo practice, as well as hard-won lessons learned along the way. Written from a second-person point of view, Solo Practice gives the reader a sense of direct individualized guidance. It is written in collegial, easy-to-understand language that provides invaluable specific, collective experience in hopes that encouragement and support will make the path toward successful solo practice easier and more rewarding.
