She hopes this book will be a friendly resource to spread awareness about the “highs” and “lows” of managing type 1 diabetes. About the Illustrator Adriana Velazquez-Ponton was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Maryland. She is a self-taught artist with a passion for visual storytelling and children’s media. When she isn’t doodling on her tablet, she’s animating! And when she isn’t animating, she’s reading a good book or enjoying an online game with her pals. Her main goal in life is to help tell positive, impactful stories through her art.
